About Me

I was born in Munich, 1978.

I studied Computer Science (Diploma) at the Technical University of Munich. My focus was Distributed Computer Systems and 3D Computer Graphics. The topic of my diploma thesis was “AR-based Interaction with Dynamic Fluid Simulation” (German original title: “AR-basierte Interaktion mit dynamischer Flußsimulationen”).

During my studies I worked at EADS / Airbus on Distributed Systems and evaluating Fault-Tolerant CORBA implementations for avionic purposes.

After my studies I continued working at EADS / Airbus and did research work on Reconfigurable Systems. The goal was that the system recognizes when CPU, memory, etc. will become scarce, stops its execution, transfers the state to another machine and continues processing at the very same execution point. I got it working on Linux with some kernel modules, patches and over UDP communication.

Since 2009 I’ve been working at BMW where I developed the idea and first prototype of the BMW Remote App (as well as supervised the app store launch iOS and Android). I also developed parts of the BMW i Remote App with which you can request the vehicle’s current charging status etc.

After that I briefly visited the strategy team for ConnectedDrive for one year.

For almost 2.5 years now I am in the Navigation department being responsible for some Asian navigation features and Product Owner for map display in the car.

Since I am very enthusiastic about Cloud Services and what you can do / achieve with it, I registered for the Microsoft Azure Exam 70-533 “Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions” – and I’ve passed successfully.

Unexpectedly, I got a job offer from Google and I am very proud to say, that I joined Google Munich on March, 1st :-)
After the first two weeks I just can say, that Google is an incredible company – with incredible products, of course! What counts first, is the human being. “Make live better.”
One word: marvelous !!!
